Baduriya College, Mawanella was started in 1918 and has a rich history spanning more than 100 years.

Baduriya was born through the dedication, sacrifice and hard work of elders of the village, with the patronage of Masjidun Noor Jummah Masjid.

The school was initially established as a junior school in a small building near the Kiringadeniya Masjidun Noor Jummah Masjid. Over the decades, it developed through the support of the Masjid, villagers, well-wishers, past principals, staff, past pupils, former SDC and OBA members, and public representatives.

The College has achieved many milestones during its journey. Each success reflects the unity and teamwork of the village and school community.
